Atiku Abubakar Lacks Funds Compared to Tinubu, Claims ADC

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserted during a political program that Atiku Abubakar does not have the financial strength to match Bola Ahmed Tinubu's campaign resources ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Momodu claimed that Atiku lacks the necessary financial backing, stating that he does not possess even 1% of Tinubu's campaign funds, which he described as substantial, particularly in Lagos State.

He expressed concern over the shrinking space for opposition parties in Nigeria, comparing the current political climate to the period of military rule under Sani Abacha. Momodu emphasized the need for a strong opposition to sustain Nigeria's democracy and dismissed speculation about his loyalty to Atiku, asserting that it would be easier for him to switch allegiance to Tinubu than for Atiku to do so.

He also mentioned that there is a lack of trust towards Atiku among the public, particularly regarding his political intentions.
