APC Chieftain Calls for EFCC Probe into Atiku Abubakar

Ntufam Hillard Eta, the former national vice chairman (South South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice-President and current presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for alleged financial misconduct. During a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, Eta announced plans to file a formal petition with the EFCC Headquarters.

He referenced a 2010 U.S. Senate report that purportedly outlines suspicious financial transactions involving Atiku's wife, Jennifer Douglas, including the movement of over US$40 million into the U.S. through offshore accounts.

The report also mentions alleged bribe payments connected to Siemens AG, totaling at least US$1.7 million to Douglas. Additionally, it discusses US$14 million transferred to the American University in Yola, Adamawa State, associated with Atiku.

Eta emphasized the need for clarity on these allegations rather than vague political accusations.
