Atiku Abubakar Rejects EFCC Probe Calls as Political Witch-Hunt

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 elections, has responded to calls for an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding corruption allegations. These calls were initiated by Ntufam Hilliard Eta, a former National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku characterized the demands for an EFCC probe as a political witch-hunt, suggesting that such actions arise when an incumbent government feels politically threatened. He referenced past investigations during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, which did not yield any evidence to warrant his prosecution.

Atiku's comments reflect his stance against what he perceives as politically motivated attacks as he prepares for the upcoming election.
