Atiku Abubakar Blames Tinubu for General Rabe's Death

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned the death of retired Major General Abubakar Rabe, who died while in captivity of bandits. In a statement issued by his media office, Atiku described the incident as a stark indictment of President Bola Tinubu's administration's failure to address insecurity in Nigeria.

He expressed profound sadness and anger over Rabe's death, emphasizing that it reflects the increasing danger citizens face from criminal elements. Atiku noted that Rabe succumbed to complications from diabetes and hypertension during his captivity, which underscores the ineffectiveness of the government's efforts to secure the release of citizens from banditry.

The statement also highlighted the ongoing violence in Nigeria, including recent attacks in Chibok, where schools were set ablaze, reminding the nation of the traumatic abduction of 270 schoolgirls in April 2014. Atiku's remarks pointed to a broader crisis of insecurity affecting the nation.
