Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso Protest INEC's ADC Derecognition

On Wednesday, prominent political figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso protested at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja. The protest was in response to INEC's decision to derecognize the David Mark-led National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Other notable participants included Senators Dino Melaye, former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, and former Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal. The protestors accused the electoral body of colluding to impose a faction on the party system in Nigeria.

They carried placards supporting Mark's leadership and called for unity, peace, and security in the country, urging Nigerians to defend democracy. Obi emphasized the importance of protecting the nation's democratic values and expressed solidarity with the ADC faction led by Mark.
