Atiku Abubakar's Camp Dismisses ADC Primary Rigging Claims

Atiku Abubakar's camp responded to allegations made by Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of rigging its presidential primaries. In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, a senior special assistant to Atiku, the claims were labeled as unsubstantiated attempts to discredit the democratic process.

Lawal questioned the credibility of the primaries, alleging electoral manipulation, but Atiku's camp insisted that the process was transparent and reflected the will of the party members nationwide. They accused Lawal of attempting to malign the party without providing any evidence to support his allegations.

Furthermore, they criticized Lawal's past, referencing his removal from office in 2017 due to links to the controversial "grass-cutting" scandal. Atiku's camp maintained that the outcome of the primaries would not be altered by Lawal's claims and emphasized the need for focus on national issues rather than internal party disputes.
