Atiku Abubakar Denies Lawal's Claims on ADC Primary

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has publicly rejected allegations made by Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, concerning the manipulation of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary. In a statement released on Tuesday by his media aide, Phrank Shaibu, Abubakar criticized Lawal for failing to provide any evidence to support his claims, describing them as mere speculation without substantiation.

Lawal reportedly spent nearly an hour making serious accusations about the ADC primary but did not present any verifiable evidence, such as documents or witness statements. Abubakar suggested that Lawal's comments stemmed from disappointment over his preferred candidate's loss in the primary.

Furthermore, Abubakar dismissed Lawal's claims of influencing the outcome of the primary as unrealistic, emphasizing that it is impossible to control votes from thousands of party members nationwide. He also referenced Lawal's recent remarks about financial assistance from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, questioning the implications of those statements.
