Atiku Abubakar Wins ADC Presidential Primary in Sokoto

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, emerged victorious in the presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Sokoto State on Monday. He garnered a total of 68,823 votes from 69,434 cast, with 69,871 registered voters.

Abubakar defeated Alhaji Muhammad Hayatudeen, who received 319 votes, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who secured 292 votes. The results were announced at the party's secretariat in Sokoto State, with the primary election overseen by Professor Aminu Abubakar.

The event was attended by various party stakeholders, including former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Deputy Governor Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, and the state party chairman Abdullahi Maigwandu.
