Atiku Abubakar Reveals Wealth Sources Amid Corruption Claims

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and presidential candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), revealed the sources of his wealth in an interview. He estimated his net worth to be between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion, attributing his fortune to diverse investments in logistics, real estate, agriculture, and education.

Abubakar emphasized that he has been transparent about his wealth and questioned why he was not accused of corruption during his tenure as Vice President under President Olusegun Obasanjo. He mentioned that a panel, which included notable figures such as El-Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu, was set up to probe corruption allegations but did not target him.

Abubakar is currently a contender for the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 elections.
