Atiku Criticizes Tinubu's Response to Plateau Tragedy

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu regarding his recent visit to Plateau State, following a tragic incident that resulted in multiple fatalities. Atiku described the visit as a "political spectacle," emphasizing that it lacked genuine empathy for the victims' families.

He noted that Tinubu's assessment of the situation did not extend beyond the airport and failed to include direct engagement with the affected communities. Atiku expressed concern that the visit seemed hurried, coinciding with Tinubu's travel to Lagos for the Easter holiday, which he viewed as a misplacement of priorities.

He compared this visit to Tinubu's previous trip to Benue State in June 2025, where he similarly avoided the epicenter of violence. Atiku also criticized the administration for not providing clear policies or concrete security measures to address the worsening situation in the country, urging the government to prioritize decisive actions rather than symbolic gestures during national tragedies.
