Atiku Abubakar Sympathizes with Lagos Flood Victims

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the victims of the ongoing flooding in Lagos State. In a statement released on Tuesday, he conveyed his concern regarding the impact of the floods on families, commuters, and business owners.

Abubakar extended his sympathies to everyone whose lives and livelihoods have been disrupted by this unfortunate event. He underscored the necessity of solidarity during these challenging times and prayed for the safety of those affected, as well as a quick return to normalcy.

The flooding has particularly impacted areas such as Gbagada, Iyana Ipaja, Ikorodu Road, Ikeja, Maryland, Mushin, Ogudu, Lekki, Oshodi, Agege, Alimosho, and Obalende, exacerbated by torrential rains that began on Sunday. The floods have overwhelmed drainage systems and worsened traffic congestion across the state, affecting major expressways including Lagos-Ibadan, Lagos-Abeokuta, Apapa-Oshodi, and Lekki-Epe.
