Atiku Abubakar Claims Tinubu Can't Win 2027 Election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar declared that President Bola Tinubu stands no chance of winning a free and fair election in 2027, attributing this to the poor performance of his administration. Atiku criticized the current government for failing to meet public expectations across various sectors, leading to increased hardship and weakened confidence in governance.

He called for a coalition among opposition parties, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to present a united front against Tinubu's All Progressives Congress (APC). Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, defended Tinubu's administration, arguing that the APC remains resilient and focused on effective governance.

Atiku, acknowledging the higher stakes of the upcoming election, emphasized the importance of younger leaders and the need for a consensus candidate from the opposition. He highlighted his extensive political experience, having contested multiple elections since 1993, and expressed confidence in the potential success of a broad coalition against Tinubu.
