Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu on Nigeria's Economy

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration for the increasing poverty, hunger, and insecurity affecting Nigerians. In a statement issued on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku highlighted the struggles of millions of Nigerians to meet basic needs due to soaring food prices and unemployment.

He noted that inflation has become a "cruel tax" on the poor, leading to a decline in purchasing power. Atiku referred to Tinubu's previous promise to renew hope for Nigerians, stating that instead, they have faced renewed hardship and insecurity.

He expressed concern over the security situation, citing recent kidnappings in Borno State and Oyo State. Atiku urged Nigerians to engage in the democratic process to determine the country's future, asserting that the ballot box remains a powerful tool.

He announced plans to unveil a policy framework focused on economic recovery, job creation, and healthcare reform to address Nigeria's pressing challenges.
