Atiku Blames Tinubu for Nigeria's Rising Insecurity

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that Nigeria's worsening insecurity is linked to the fiscal indiscipline and wasteful spending of the Tinubu administration. He made these remarks on Sunday in response to reports indicating that 5,091 Nigerians were killed in violent incidents over three months.

Atiku described these figures as a damning scorecard of the government's failure to protect lives and property. He emphasized that these statistics represent real human costs and criticized the administration for mismanaging public resources.

Atiku acknowledged the recent pay increase for military personnel but insisted that improved remuneration is only a small part of what is needed to enhance morale and operational effectiveness. He called for a government that prioritizes cutting waste and improving budgetary appropriations for defense and security, asserting that a government failing to protect its citizens has failed its fundamental duty.
