Adamu Atiku Abubakar Resigns from Adamawa Cabinet

Adamu Atiku Abubakar, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially resigned from his position in the Adamawa State cabinet, where he served in the Commission for Energy Development. His resignation letter, dated March 2, 2026, was signed and expressed profound gratitude towards Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the opportunity to serve the people of Adamawa State.

Adamu described his tenure as a significant honor and pledged to continue his loyalty and support for the current administration's development vision. He thanked his father for moral support and acknowledged the contributions of the permanent secretary and the entire staff of the ministry.

Adamu emphasized that his resignation does not signify an end to his public service commitment but rather a new avenue for development collaboration. Additionally, he is reportedly preparing to contest for a governorship position, although he has not yet declared his party platform.

His brother, Abba Atiku, is also set to contest for a House of Representatives seat under the APC.
