FG Orders Security Overhaul After NIPSS Attack in Kuru

Following a deadly attack by gunmen at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State, which resulted in the deaths of three security personnel, the Federal Government has mandated an immediate overhaul of the nation's security architecture. Vice President Kashim Shettima, during a visit to NIPSS, directed the implementation of urgent security measures, including upgrading surveillance systems, reinforcing perimeter fencing, and deploying additional security personnel.

Shettima expressed condolences to the families of the fallen officers and commended the swift response of security operatives that repelled the attack. NIPSS Director General Prof. Ayo Omotayo acknowledged the rapid response and emphasized the institute's commitment to providing strategic guidance for national development despite the challenges posed by security breaches.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang praised the courage of security operatives and pledged to enhance security measures around the institute, including improved lighting and additional patrol vehicles.
