Shettima Assesses NIPSS Security After Gunmen Attack

On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State, to assess the security situation following a recent attack by gunmen that resulted in the deaths of three individuals. Shettima was accompanied by Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and senior government officials, and he received the Director General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, along with members of the institute's management team.

The visit was prompted by the attack, which raised fresh concerns about security at Nigeria's foremost policy and strategic studies institute. In response to the incident, security agencies have arrested several suspects connected to the attack, and additional security measures have been deployed around the institute to prevent further incidents.

Shettima's visit is part of the federal government's efforts to assess the situation firsthand, reassure the management staff, and strengthen security around the facility while investigations into the attack continue.
