August 16 Remo Federal Constituency By-Election: Abiodun Appeals for Calm, Warns Against Violence

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has urged for calm and warned against violence ahead of the August 16 Remo Federal Constituency by-election. Speaking at an APC campaign rally in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area, Abiodun emphasized the importance of a peaceful electoral process.

He stated that anyone attempting to disrupt the election will be dealt with decisively, as the poll is a democratic process to elect a replacement for the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga. Abiodun assured residents of their safety, with the Chief Security Officer of Ogun State ensuring adequate protection during the election.

The governor also expressed confidence in the APC candidate, Hon Adesola Elegbeji, describing him as highly intellectual and knowledgeable to represent the constituency effectively. Abiodun highlighted the need for quality representation and condemned thuggery in the electoral process.

He promised to continue giving attention to Ogijo, a strategic border community.
