Nigeria and Cameroon Sign Key Aviation Rescue Agreement

On a recent visit to Cameroon, Nigeria's Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, signed a formal technical aeronautical search and rescue (SAR) agreement with his Cameroonian counterpart, Minister of Transport Jean Ernest Ngall Bibeh. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation in aviation safety and establish clear communication protocols for joint search and rescue operations.

Keyamo expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Cameroonian government and reiterated the importance of this agreement in aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda to strengthen regional cooperation and protect lives and property. The agreement is designed to improve operational coordination and rapid response mechanisms within the search and rescue region.

Keyamo highlighted that aviation is a strategic enabler for economic growth and national development, stressing the humanitarian and moral responsibilities associated with effective search and rescue operations.
