Nigerian Aviation Unions Reject Enugu Airport Concession, Threaten Strike

Aviation unions in Nigeria, including the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, the National Union of Air Transport Employees, and the Aviation Professional Association, have jointly rejected the concession of Enugu airport by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The unions expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency in the concession process, raising concerns about potential job losses for aviation workers.

The unions accused the Ministry of Aviation of sidelining labor representatives during the final stages of the concession process, leading to a lack of consideration for worker welfare. The unions have called for the halt and reversal of the concession process to ensure proper engagement with labor unions and safeguard workers' rights.
