AWIEF and OSF Collaborate for Women’s Peace Initiatives

The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has partnered with Open Society Foundations (OSF) for the AWIEF 2026 Conference, which will be held on 10 and 11 November 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). This twelfth edition of the annual conference will convene entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, government, and development partners.
The opening plenary, titled "Peace Dividends: Why Women-Led Enterprise Is a Security Strategy, Not Just an Economic One," will explore the contributions of women entrepreneurs to economic stability and peace in conflict-affected regions. The discussion will be moderated by Idil Absiaye, Regional Head of Women, Peace and Security Policy at UN Women.
The partnership aims to highlight the importance of women’s economic empowerment in fostering resilient communities and sustainable peace across Africa. Registration for the conference is available online.
