Fusengbuwa Ruling House Rejects Money Offers for Awujale Succession, Emphasizes Unity

Owoyemi, the head of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, disclosed that they rejected monetary offers from eight aspirants vying for the Awujale succession in Ijebu land. Owoyemi emphasized the importance of selecting a successor to the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, without compromise to money politics.

He recalled a warning from the late Oba Adetona against attempts to influence the succession process with money. Owoyemi also addressed internal disputes within the ruling house, dismissing claims of a different family head and highlighting a court judgment affirming their leadership.

He urged unity within the family to ensure a smooth succession process and emphasized the need to avoid division and greed.
