AXP Africa Launches New Housing Model to Tackle Deficit

AXP Africa Limited unveiled a new housing model on Thursday in Lagos during its sixth anniversary event themed “A New Chapter, A Greater Impact.” This model aims to address Nigeria’s housing deficit by coordinating developers, mortgage banks, employers, and other stakeholders in the homeownership process. The event took place at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island.

The new approach combines housing finance, technology, policy, and partnerships, with plans to expand mortgage facilitation services, accelerate National Housing Fund processing, and establish a corporate homeownership track. AXP Africa Limited transitioned from AXP Solutions Pro Limited, reflecting its broader housing platform ambitions.

Hakeem Sadiku, Head of Enterprise Strategy, PMO & Transformation at AXP Africa Limited, stated that the company has facilitated mortgage opportunities for over 300 prospective homeowners in Nigeria. He emphasized the urgency of addressing Nigeria's housing challenge and the need for technology integration and collaboration among partners.

AXP plans to adapt this model to other African markets facing similar housing finance challenges.
