Brighton Coach Hürzeler Praises New Signing Femi Azeez

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hürzeler expressed his excitement about the qualities of Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez after the Nigerian's transfer to the club on deadline day for just over £15 million. Azeez, 25, was unavailable for Brighton's matches against Coventry City and Leeds due to an injury sustained while playing for Millwall in their opening league game of the season, a 2-0 victory over Bristol City.

Hürzeler mentioned that Azeez is currently dealing with a slight injury but hopes he will be fit for the next game. Azeez had a successful 2025/26 season at Millwall, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists, which earned him a spot in the PFA Championship Team of The Season.

Hürzeler highlighted Azeez's versatility as a winger, his scoring ability with both feet, and his strong decision-making in critical moments. Azeez is looking to recover in time to make his debut against Coventry City, where he may face fellow Super Eagles players Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka.
