Babangida, Abdulsalami seek urgent action on Baro port

Former Nigerian leaders Babangida and Abdulsalami have called for urgent action to revive the Baro port during separate visits to the House of Representatives Committee on the Rehabilitation and Operationalisation of the Baro Inland Port. They pledged support for efforts to revitalize the port, emphasizing its importance in the region.

Abdulsalami highlighted the need to elevate the port to an internationally recognized inland waterway to ensure its viability. Babangida expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit the port, describing the project as a long-awaited initiative.

Committee Chairman Saidu Abdullahi noted that the visit aimed to assess the port's infrastructure and identify challenges in making it operational, particularly in terms of rail and road access. The leaders emphasized the historical significance of the port and the need to restore its prominence in the region.
