NPA Revives Delta Ports to Boost Economy and Create Jobs

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) announced plans to revive the Delta Ports as part of a broader strategy to decongest Lagos ports and boost Nigeria's economy. During a working tour, NPA Chairman Senator Adedayo Adeyeye emphasized President Bola Tinubu's commitment to revitalizing Nigeria's port infrastructure to generate employment and support economic growth.

Adeyeye's delegation met with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders to discuss operationalizing the Delta Ports for economic prosperity and job creation. The NPA aims to address challenges like shallow draught and siltation to ensure efficient port operations.

The establishment of the Delta Channeling Management Company will focus on dredging and maintaining navigable waterways.
