Baro Port in Niger State Still Inactive After 6 Years - Stakeholders Express Concerns

The Baro Port in Niger State remains idle six years after its commissioning, as highlighted by Hon. Saidu Musa Abdullahi during a visit to the Media Trust Group headquarters in Abuja.

Despite being inaugurated by former President Muhammad Buhari, the port is yet to commence operations, causing concerns among stakeholders. Local residents, like Ndagana Mohammed, express disappointment over the lack of activity at the port, which has negatively impacted economic activities in the region.

The delay in the port's operation has also led to environmental concerns and disruptions to farming and fishing activities. Efforts are being made to drive advocacy and public engagement to make the inland port fully functional and beneficial to the community.
