Babangida Mourns Alhaji Alhaji's Passing as Personal Loss

General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a former Military President of Nigeria, conveyed his condolences regarding the death of Alhaji Alhaji, a former Minister of Finance and the Sardauna of Sokoto. Babangida described Alhaji's passing as a personal loss, stating that he had lost a friend, associate, confidant, and brother.

He characterized Alhaji as an "accomplished public servant, a diplomat, an elder statesman, and a patriot," who dedicated his life to Nigeria's development. Babangida highlighted Alhaji's significant contributions to the nation's greatness and noted that his dedication to national assignments set a benchmark for diligence and integrity.

He acknowledged Alhaji's exemplary leadership and selflessness throughout his service. Babangida prayed for Allah to grant Alhaji's family, the people of Sokoto State, and all Nigerians the strength to cope with this loss and requested that Allah grant Alhaji Alhaji Al-Janaat Firdaus.

Alhaji Alhaji was born in 1937 and passed away last year, having been buried according to Islamic rites.
