Babcock University Offers Free Medical and Legal Services

Babcock University marked its 67th Founders’ Day and 27th anniversary by offering free medical and legal services to more than 300 residents of Ilishan-Remo. This initiative, coordinated by the Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH), included specialist consultations, eye examinations, dental care, blood pressure checks, and medications.

Beneficiaries like Mrs. Oshitola Kujirat expressed gratitude for receiving malaria treatment at no cost. The university's legal services department also provided free consultations on issues such as landlord disputes and divorce proceedings.

Dr. Joseph Agada, Director of Legal Services, noted that some cases would continue on a pro bono basis, helping residents understand their rights. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Afolarin Ojewole stated that the celebration reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to serving humanity, emphasizing the importance of accessible health and justice.

The outreach reflects Babcock University's dedication to building resilient communities and creating a lasting impact in Ilishan-Remo.
