Wike Reveals Bala Mohammed Urged Halt to PDP Convention

On Friday, Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, revealed that Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, visited him with a request to stop the recent national convention of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). During a monthly media chat in Abuja, Wike stated that Mohammed urged him to engage in discussions with aggrieved party members to resolve their differences and promote unity within the PDP.

Wike expressed his willingness to ensure that grievances are addressed, emphasizing that reconciliation is not difficult and that mistakes have been made by all. He mentioned that Mohammed had called him last week to discuss the situation but was unable to meet due to his commitments.

Wike highlighted the importance of not allowing the party to be divided and noted that a committee had been set up to address these issues, as the tenure of the current National Working Committee (NWC) is nearing its end. He also referenced a court ruling regarding the validity of the convention.
