Bala Mohammed to Join APC Amid PDP Tensions

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, is scheduled to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday. This decision follows a meeting he had with President Bola Tinubu and APC leadership, where he expressed his intent to join the party.

Mohammed's departure is part of a broader political maneuvering, as he seeks to navigate the challenges within the PDP, particularly amid ongoing tensions with the faction led by Nyesom Wike. The Wike camp has outlined non-negotiable conditions for peace within the PDP, including the demand for the party to contest positions in the 2027 general elections and to hold a national convention on March 29.
