Discrepancies in 2026 Ballon d’Or Top 10 Contenders List

A list circulating on social media claiming to identify the final 10 contenders for the 2026 men’s Ballon d’Or has raised questions due to discrepancies. The list includes Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo, Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane, Ousmane Dembélé, Lionel Messi, Luis Díaz, Erling Haaland, Michael Olise, and Fabián Ruiz.

However, Rodrygo was not among the original 30 nominees, and Luis Díaz is ranked 24th, indicating that the circulating list is not official. The rankings released so far have placed Jude Bellingham 11th, with several other players ranked below.

The official rankings will determine the final positions of the top 10 players, which include notable names like Messi, Mbappé, and Haaland. The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place at the London Palladium on October 26, marking the first time the event is hosted in the British capital.

The winner will be decided by an international jury of journalists.
