Norway Football Federation Considers FIFA Complaint Over Balogun

The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) is considering filing a formal complaint to FIFA’s ethics committee concerning the suspension of Folarin Balogun’s automatic one-match ban during the World Cup. Balogun, a forward for the United States, received a straight red card in a match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, which his team won 2-0.

Initially expected to miss the last-16 tie against Belgium, the ban was suspended following intervention from U.S. President Donald Trump, with no specific reason provided for this decision.

Balogun played in the subsequent match, which Belgium won 4-1. NFF President Lise Klaveness expressed "strong concern" over the situation, stating that a decision on whether to proceed with the complaint would be made at the next board meeting.

The NFF has previously filed a complaint regarding FIFA’s Peace Prize awarded to Trump. Klaveness indicated that the Balogun case would be included in the inquiry related to FIFA's peace prize award.
