Tinubu Honors Late PDP Leader Bamanga Tukur as Peacebuilder

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, visited Yola, Adamawa State, to express condolences to the family of the late Bamanga Tukur, former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, who passed away at the age of 91. During the visit, Tinubu described Tukur as an icon and peacebuilder, emphasizing the significance of his contributions not only to the northern region but to Nigeria as a whole.

He referred to Tukur's death as a sad loss while also celebrating his long life and the enduring legacies he left behind. Tinubu stated, “The death of Bamanga Tukur is a big celebration.

Dying at the age of 91 is something that we are supposed to thank Allah for.” Vice President Shettima was received by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri at the Yola International Airport and was accompanied to Tukur’s residence. Alhaji Awwal Tukur expressed gratitude for the President's gesture, highlighting the importance of recognizing every Nigerian as significant.
