PDP Mourns Former Chairman Alhaji Bamanga Tukur at 90

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), supported by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of its former National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Mahmud Tukur, who died at the age of 90. In a statement issued in Abuja by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the PDP described Tukur as a committed member and a towering figure in Nigeria's political landscape, whose public service career spanned several decades.

The party acknowledged his significant contributions to the growth of the PDP and the strengthening of democratic governance in Nigeria. Tukur served as National Chairman of the PDP from 2012 until his resignation in January 2014.

He was also noted for his roles in the private sector and international business, including his leadership positions in the Africa Business Roundtable and the NEPAD Business Group. The PDP extended heartfelt condolences to Tukur's family, friends, and the people of Adamawa State, recognizing his impactful legacy in various sectors, including ports administration and international trade.
