Bandit Leader Contacts Family of Abducted Retired General

A bandit leader has reached out to the family of retired Major General Rabe Kachallah Muhammad, whose wife was abducted on Saturday in Katsina State during an ambush along the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area. The gunmen attacked the vehicle, forcing it to halt and subsequently abducting the general's wife.

During the communication, the bandit leader expressed that the general's wife is in good health and made demands for the release of his gang members currently held by Nigerian security authorities. He indicated a willingness to negotiate for peace in the Matazu area.

The incident has caused significant concern among local officials and residents, with the retired general's family described as pillars of the community. The abduction reflects the growing boldness of criminal groups in Katsina State, prompting calls for urgent action to address the deteriorating security situation.
