Retired General Rabe Abubakar Kidnapped in Katsina

Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who previously served as the Director of Defence Information, and his wife were abducted along Marabar Musawa Kafinsoli Road in the Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. A four-minute video was released by the kidnappers on Saturday, showing the couple in captivity.

In the video, the wife of the retired general appeals to the Katsina State government and local leaders to facilitate compliance with the kidnappers' demands. The abductors are reportedly demanding the release of three individuals identified as Sani, Aminu, and Nasiru, as well as livestock that they allege was seized.

The video also features the retired general speaking briefly, expressing a desire for peace and dialogue. The notorious bandit leader Kachallah Muhammad is mentioned as having established communication with the family of the retired general.

As of the time of the report, neither the Katsina State government nor security agencies had issued an official statement regarding the video.
