Sokoto Government Urges Unity Against Insecurity Threats

The Sokoto State Government has called on political parties, candidates, and stakeholders to stop politicizing insecurity, emphasizing that addressing security challenges requires collective action. This statement was made on Thursday in response to concerns raised by Manir Dan’iya, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, regarding threats to residents of Kebbe Local Government Area.

Colonel Ahmed Usman (rtd), Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters, stated that the reported threats are being taken seriously, with security agencies collaborating with the state government and local communities to assess and mitigate the situation. He noted that insecurity predates the current administration and highlighted the increased support for security agencies under Governor Aliyu, including restored and enhanced allowances and provision of security equipment.

Usman urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, acknowledging that government efforts alone cannot fully resolve the security issues.
