Sokoto Government Calls for Unity Against Insecurity Threats

The Sokoto State Government has called on political parties and stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the rising security challenges in the state. This appeal was made in response to concerns from Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, regarding threats to residents in Kebbe Local Government Area.

The Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters confirmed that the government is aware of the threats and is treating the situation with urgency, coordinating with security agencies and local communities. The adviser noted that the security challenges predate the current administration, which has taken steps to enhance the capacity of security agencies.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu's administration has increased funding and logistical support for security, including restoring and raising allowances for security personnel and providing essential equipment. The adviser emphasized the importance of community involvement in security efforts, stating that government initiatives require active participation from residents and stakeholders.
