Bandit Attacks in Sokoto Claim Multiple Lives

In Sokoto State, a series of violent attacks attributed to bandits have led to the deaths of at least seven residents in Tofa village, Rabah LGA, on Sunday night. The victims included Guda Biti, Bello Dan Makanike, Musa Dan Agaji, Mallam Dan Tani, Dan Kuluwa, Jamila, and Masudu.

Initially, 35 residents were abducted, with eight later returning, leaving 27 still in captivity. In Isa LGA, bandits attacked Tidibale village on Saturday, killing five residents and abducting approximately 50 others.

Additionally, in Dange Shuni LGA, two individuals were killed and two others abducted. Residents reported gunfire and expressed fear, leading many to flee their homes.

They have called for permanent security presence to ensure safety and allow them to return to their livelihoods. The Sokoto State Police Command, represented by DSP Ahmad Rufai, stated that investigations into these incidents would be conducted.
