Bandits Kidnap Five in Tsafe, Zamfara Attack

In a recent attack on Tsafe, Zamfara, bandits abducted five individuals around 1am. A resident reported that the assailants opened fire and targeted two houses, successfully abducting two women from the home of Lamidi, a Yoruba man and father of the former Chief of Staff to Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar.

The bandits attempted to enter the house of Nura Sani, Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Dauda Lawal, but were unsuccessful. The attack occurred despite a curfew in the town and the absence of local vigilantes and security checkpoints in the targeted areas.

Hon. Garba Shehu Fanchas, the Chairman of Tsafe Local Government Area, confirmed the attack and praised the efforts of security agencies and local vigilantes, stating that they had previously blocked all entrances to the town. However, the bandits managed to infiltrate through an unexpected route.

No casualties were reported among the residents, and the chairman called for increased security personnel to ensure safety in the area.
