Bandits Abduct Children in Kogi, Impose Levies on Niger Communities - Escalating Insecurity Threatens Residents

Bandits have struck in Kogi State, abducting children and imposing levies on communities. In Yagba West Local Government Area, Tokpe Gody's house was invaded, with his wife and two children abducted amidst heavy gunfire.

While Gody narrowly escaped with gunshot wounds, his family members were taken and are currently missing. The bandits demanded levies from Niger State communities, with amounts ranging from N2 million to N10 million, within one to two weeks.

This incident comes after a commercial motorcyclist was killed in Ejiba. The situation highlights the escalating insecurity and financial burden faced by residents in the region.
