Bandits Kidnap Village Head in Kano, Security Urged

The village head of Aujarawar Alkali was abducted by bandits in Kano when the assailants stormed the community on Thursday night. Mahi Isma’il, the spokesperson for the Zannan Kano and the District Head of Jogana, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Friday, describing it as a tragic development and a significant blow to local peace and security.

The abduction has heightened fear among residents, with families and community leaders expressing concern over the safety and whereabouts of the traditional ruler. Alhaji Abdulkadir Ma’aji, the District Head of Jogana, appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the monarch and enhance security in vulnerable rural areas.

He urged residents to remain calm and support security agencies through vigilance and cooperation, while also calling for prayers for the safe return of the village head. Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, stated he would provide updates after gathering more information from the area.
