Bandits Abduct APC Chairman in Kano, Two Killed

On Monday night, suspected bandits abducted Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka Beli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Rogo Local Government Area in Kano State, during an attack on Beli community. The attack, which occurred around 11 PM, left two residents dead as the gunmen opened fire while approaching Beli's residence.

Beli had just returned from a political engagement in nearby Zarewa when the attackers forced their way into his home and took him away. Auwalu Sojo, the Kano State APC Publicity Secretary, confirmed the abduction.

Residents attempted to resist the attackers, resulting in fatalities, with conflicting reports indicating either one or two deaths. The attackers fled towards Babbarika village, leaving behind three motorcycles.

A suspicious man, identified as a Fulani who spoke Fulfulde, was detained by residents the following morning and handed over to the police, although his connection to the abduction remains unverified. This incident follows another attack on an APC official in Bebeji LGA just a day earlier.
