Bandits Kill APC Chairman in Kano, Abduct Residents

On a late Sunday night, suspected bandits attacked Rantan community in Bebeji Local Government Area, Kano State, resulting in the death of Alhaji Garba Buba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of Rantan Ward, and another resident, Sulaiman Zunduma. Buba was shot during the assault and later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.

Another resident, Alhaji Sa’adu, sustained gunshot wounds. The attack has heightened fears among local communities already tense from previous violence, including an earlier incident in Chiromawa where gunmen abducted the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano and killed three individuals.

The Kano State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori, has confirmed that an investigation into the killings of Buba and Zunduma is underway. This incident is particularly significant as it involves a local political leader, raising security concerns in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
