Bandits Kill Five in Kano Community Attack

On Tuesday evening, around 6 PM, bandits attacked the Yankamay community in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, Kano State, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to four others. The assailants, estimated to be around 30, arrived on motorcycles and began shooting sporadically.

Ado Haladu, the former vice chairman of the Tsanyawa Local Government Council, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, stating that the victims included men, children, and unmarried youths. The attack did not involve kidnappings, but it left the community in fear, with residents unable to sleep due to apprehension.

This incident marks the second attack in the area within five months, with a previous attack resulting in the kidnapping of four women and the death of one person. Kano State Police, represented by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the attack and stated that a team of policemen and the Joint Task Force (JTF) had been deployed to the area to apprehend the culprits.
