Bandits Kill 11 in Katsina Village Attack on April 26

On April 26, 2026, at approximately 2:40 PM, bandits attacked Gurbi Village in Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to two others. The Katsina State Police Command, through DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the attack and expressed regret over the fatalities.

Following the distress call received by security agencies, a joint security team comprising police and military personnel was promptly dispatched to the scene. The assailants fled before the security forces arrived, and efforts are underway to restore normalcy in the area.

The injured victims were evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic rites. CP Ali Umar Fage has deployed additional tactical teams to the area to prevent further attacks and has urged the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to the police.
