Bandits Attack Katsina Village, Killing 3 and Injuring 11

On Wednesday evening, Jikamshi village in Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina State, was attacked by bandits, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 11 others. The assault began shortly after the villagers broke their Ramadan fast and continued until shortly after the evening meal.

Residents reported that the attackers stormed the community, shooting sporadically, which forced many to flee for safety. A community leader, who requested anonymity, described the attack as shocking and stated that residents were caught off guard.

A short video reportedly recorded during the attack has circulated on social media. Following the incident, local authorities convened an emergency security meeting to discuss measures to prevent further attacks in the area.

The local government council chairman canceled official engagements outside the area to coordinate a response and ensure that injured victims receive treatment, including referrals to hospitals in Katsina.
