Bandits Kill Two, Abduct Residents Near Sokoto Town

On Thursday night, bandits attacked a community located 20 kilometers from Sokoto metropolis, resulting in the deaths of two residents and the abduction of several others, including women and a 10-year-old boy. Eyewitnesses reported that the attack began around 11 PM and lasted for an hour, during which the assailants targeted a local vigilante outpost on the outskirts of the town.

The operation was described as coordinated, with the gunmen appearing to monitor for possible military intervention. Residents expressed panic as the gunfire erupted, and they called on the government to establish a military outpost in Achida, which is just 20 kilometers from Sokoto town, to prevent further incidents.

The Sokoto State Police Command, represented by DSP Ahmad Rufa, confirmed that no report had been filed at the time of the incident.
