Bandits Kill Two, Abduct Eleven in Sokoto Village Attack

On Tuesday night, bandits attacked a village in Sokoto, resulting in the deaths of two individuals identified as Abubakar Buntu and Abubakar Bello. During the raid, eleven people were abducted, comprising eight women, three men, and a child.

The attack occurred around 11:40 PM, causing panic among the approximately 5,000 residents. Eyewitnesses reported that sporadic gunfire forced people to flee, and two other individuals sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at a health facility in Sokoto.

The local security situation has been described as inadequate, with calls for increased security operations in the area, particularly along roads leading to nearby forests. DSP Ahmad Rufai, a police public relations officer, confirmed the incident but noted that details were still sketchy, and further updates were pending from the Kware Local Government Area police division.
